We are proud to feature the work of up-and-coming talent as well as established filmmakers.
Unlike other curated short film platforms, we never reject short films. All films submitted are guaranteed to be showcased on our website.
We feature 1500+ short film reviews categorized by genre, subject, language, year and country of origin, facilitating easy navigation for our visitors and enhancing search engine visibility for short films.
You can submit your short film for review using our submission form. Our standard submission fee is $40.Â
Any submissions received via email or social media will be not be accepted.
Short Films Matter is not a film festival, distributor, video sharing platform or an event organizer. We concentrate on offering published feedback on the production and narrative strengths of submitted content.
Each review includes a star-rating and promotion on our Instagram page. Unlike festivals or events, we accept submissions year-round without any specific deadlines.
If you would like to make any changes to your review page/or request deletion, you can do so via email.
1. All short films must be publicly hosted on YouTube or Vimeo. If your short film is currently in a festival season. you can submit a trailer. This can be and changed later once your festival season has concluded.
2. Short Films must be 40 minutes or less.
3. You can submit a film that was produced/released in any year, country or language.
4. We accept all types of short films, including: Action, Animation, Comedy, Drama, Documentary, Experimental, Horror, LGBTQ+, Music, Mystery, Sci-Fi and Thriller.
5. We do not refund submissions.
6. Subtitles are required if the film is not in the English language.
Yes. Our standard submission fee is $40.Â
Besides staff and running costs, the fee is also necessary to ensure high-quality and genuine content for our visitors. The fee rates are competitive with comparable publications.
If your short film is currently in a festival season, we can showcase the trailer or a still image instead. You can request changes any time prior to publication.
If you have more than one short film that you would like to submit, please contact us prior to your submission so we can provide you with a discounted coupon.
We strive to publish all reviews withing 21 days of your submission. Due to periods of high demand, this may take longer. If you still haven’t received your review within 21 days, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
To have your short film featured in the “Handpicked” section, it must capture the attention of our selection team. We meticulously curate this elite collection based on several critical factors: outstanding production quality, compelling storytelling, exceptional acting, and that special spark that sets a film apart from the rest. Inclusion in this exclusive category is solely at the discretion of our team, who are always on the lookout for films that truly resonate and exceed the ordinary.
We selectively showcase short films on our Instagram page, featuring curated snippets like short clips, trailers, or a series of still images. It’s important to note that we do not post the complete films.
Given the high volume of submissions, it is challenging for us to promptly share all submitted shorts on Instagram. Rest assured, we prioritize films that can captivate our followers and have left a lasting impression on us. Not all submissions make it to our Instagram feed; instead, we choose those with the potential for meaningful engagement.
