Beats, the video delves into a lively courtship – assembled by home-video footage of their experience as a couple. With cinematic cinematography and gratifying musical tones, the video is certain to hold viewer engagement until the final beat.

Set almost entirely in apartment 111, the video opens with Yas commencing her track, also titled ‘111’. The lyrics speak of baleful pondering of her love interest and the tradition of how their future will pan out. The lyrics centre around themes of desire and infatuation – combined with heartbreak and sorrow. Midway through the video/track, Alee (the love interest), opens up about his own perspective of their relationship.

Musicality aside, Anna Augusto has crafted a riveting watch with stellar craftsmanship in cinematography (Dariely Belke) and post-production (Allex Deracco and Vitor Bertonha). The narrative is adeptly synced with the music lyrics – giving a poetic zest that is enriching to watch. The music itself is congenial listening – if R&B is your thing.

The lyrics are produced in the Portuguese language (without English subtitles). Yas and Alee deliver commendable performances throughout. ‘111’ is a music video that shouldn’t be overlooked. Highly recommended.
