A witty mockumentary, where diverse personalities collide against a backdrop of technical chaos.
3/5

Review

Sam Roach’s short mockumentary offers a humorous and entertaining glimpse into the work life of three young office employees in an I.T department. Noah Jankowski shines as the Star Wars-obsessed tech enthusiast, bringing a delightful and outlandish edge to his performance. James Wang delivers a laidback portrayal of Rick, while Ashley Poskarbiewicz adds a ruthless touch as Karen, creating a dynamic trio with distinct personalities.

The narrative explores the clash of these characters’ diverse traits as they navigate through various technical issues throughout the day. Clearly drawing inspiration from the American sitcom ‘The Office’, Roach manages to imprint his own unique mark on the mockumentary genre, infusing the film with a blend of humor, wit, and oddity.

Despite its low-budget student production status, the film is well-crafted, showcasing respectable performances that elevate the material. While the cinematography is passable, some minor sound issues do arise, though they don’t distract significantly from the overall viewing experience.

In the spirit of its sitcom inspiration, the short film successfully captures the essence of workplace dynamics and injects a dose of absurdity into the mundane. Roach’s ability to balance humor with relatable character dynamics makes this mockumentary an entertaining watch, offering a lighthearted yet insightful take on the everyday challenges of office life.
