An experimental film about female empowerment.
2/5

Review

Directed by Tatiana Rivero Sanz, ‘And I Will Know All At Once’ is a poetic experimental film that showcases the artistic work of photographers Judith in den Bosch and Tatiana Rivero Sanz. The visual narrative, which is constructed of various fine art and contemporary still images, conveys the theme of romance and female empowerment. Throughout the entire film, a poetic subtext is utilised to guide the overall story. A film that is certain to gratify enthusiasts of visual art and poetry.

Over the course of the 4-minute film, the audience will be treated to scores of Bosch and Sanz’s portfolio of work – vivid flowers symbolising love and hope, as well as dramatic imagery that illustrate strength, fear and the defeated. A quote by American writer Sue Monk Kidd is also highlighted within the visual narrative. The soundtrack consists of a relaxing jazz instrumental.

Tatiana Rivero Sanz and Judith in den Bosch deserve high acclaim for their enchanting artistic creations. The poetry is a nice touch, but at times can be a little distracting and hard to follow -particularly when you are transfixed to the imagery. In this case, a narrative voice-over would have done the trick. This film is not for the masses, a niche viewership will certainly appreciate.
