Written and directed by Daniel Hamby, ‘In the Dead of Light’ is a short mystery thriller than explores the immediate afterlife of the deceased protagonist. Kyle Riggs leads the cast as Wes, with Edem Lee as Holly – Wes’ girlfriend. The film delves into Wes’ frantic discovery of his wounded body and his relationship with Holly. A nail-biting watch that rewards viewers with an unforseen narrative twist.

The 5-minute film opens with the protagonist nauseated on the road outside his home. In bewilderment, he detects his lifeless body adjacent to his car. The glare of the rising sun sparks a scramble inside, where he attempts to wake up his partner. Despite wailing, his spiritual presence is not perceptible to the living.
