The 32-minute film opens with Marco’s relocation from Kensington, Philadelphia to a seemingly desirable neighborhood. With an outlook for a fresh start, Marco, who is serving probation, finds an ally in Aiden – a friendly neighbor who subsequently invites him to his house party. During a trip to the store, Marco’s shortcomings resurface during an altercation to break-up a fight. Later, at Aiden’s lively house party, Marco faces the ultimate test of character – will he succeed?
Brandon Forgione (Director/Co-Writer/Star) delivers an exemplary performance from the offset. His ability to portray empathy, strength and weakness is highly commendable and deserving of high acclaim. The enthralling narrative is neatly structured with rousing characterization, dialogue and conflict. The entire cast deserve a nod for their flawless performances. Visually, the film is professionally short with stellar cinematography, sound and post-production. ‘Brick Walls’ is an intense action drama that probes at the idea that you have to face your problems rather than runaway. Highly recommended.
