The Changing Room

A spine-chilling horror that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
5/5

Review

Written and directed by Sam Evenson, ‘The Changing Room’ is a short horror film that tells the haunting story of a young woman trapped in a changing room. Jamie Taylor Ballesta stars as Eva, with Alan Maxson as the mysterious antagonist. The film explores themes of anxiety, claustrophobia and paranormal activity. A spine-chilling watch from start to finish.

The 4-minute film opens in suspense as Eva, a customer of a clothing store, enters a restricted area in search for a changing room. Inside the changing room, Eva takes initial fascination with the infinity mirror effect, which soon turns frightfully blood-curling. Startled by an opening in the roof and a mysterious presence in the mirror, Eva’s attempt to escape is limited. The door is locked and her confinement is tested by the imminent threat in the mirror. Terrifyingly gripping throughout.

Sam Evenson has delivered a petrifying film that will most certainly startle audiences. Jamie Taylor Ballesta’s performance as the innocent protagonist is highly captivating. Ballesta’s ability to showcase trepidation is highly commendable. Alan Maxson’s portrayal as the ghastly antagonist is equally praiseworthy. Visually, the film is professionally shot with high-quality cinematography and special effects. Despite a fairly simple narrative, the film will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Highly recommended.
