Directed by Miguel Caycedo, from a script by Jon Gutierrez, ‘Born Again’ is a short drama film that delves into the power of faith during a personal crisis. Jon Gutierrez leads the cast as Michael, a street savvy London drug dealer, with Mia Lysandrou as his girlfriend (Myra). The film tackle’s themes of religion, drugs and grief. A poignant thriller that will keep viewers gripped until the closing credits.

The 9-minute film opens with Michael in an altercation with a client. A Christian preacher steps in to deliver his religious wisdom, much to Michael’s formidable resistance. As Michael returns home, he finds his girlfriend Myra unconscious on the bed. In a plight of desperation, Michael turns to God to save her from death. The film concludes with a heartfelt miracle, prompting the protagonist to change his ways.

Jon Gutierrez (Writer/Star) has created a moving narrative that teases the importance of religious faith. Under Miguel Caycedo’s direction, the film is constructed with high quality cinematography, sound and post-production. Jon Gutierrez delivers a remarkable performance as Michael – the audience will be captivated by the character growth from start-to-finish. A touching drama that doesn’t shy away from expressing a religious message. Highly recommended.
