Directed by Ari Itkin and Devon Diffenderfer, from a script by Diffenderfer, ‘Love You Tyler’ is a short comedy film that delves into the friendship of two roommates. The film stars Devon Diffenderfer as Luke, with Ryan Pater as Tyler. The short rewards viewers with a witty narrative, awkward hilarity and captivating characters. Filmed in real time, the plot revolves around Luke’s new girlfriend – who coincidently shares the same name and occupation as his roommate.

The 8-minute comedy opens with Tyler packing for a trip without his roommate. In small talk, Luke confesses he will be spending time with his new girlfriend, also called Tyler. As similarities grow, Tyler questions the legitimacy of the girlfriend. Conflict arises when Luke kisses Tyler during a practice marriage proposal – much to his vexation. Tyler is convinced that Luke has hidden feelings for him, which leads to a hilarious twist to the narrative.

Devon Diffenderfer (Writer/Co-Director/Star) has created a blazing short that will captivate and bring a whole lot of laughs to its audience. The film explores male masculinity and sexuality with a rich comical undertone. Diffenderfer and Ryan Pater deserve high praise for their rib-tickling performances – a match made in comedy heaven. Visually, the film is shot with outstanding cinematography throughout – aiding the viewing pleasure immensely. Sound and post-production are equally commendable. A thoroughly entertaining watch. Highly recommended.
