Directed by Chris Owsiany, from a script by Jordan Wilson, ‘Risky Business’ is a short comedy film that follows Jordan Wilson as he challenges himself by sliding on various ground surfaces. Wilson portrays an eccentric version of himself. The mockumentary-style film takes a satirical look at YouTube review videos. An amusing watch throughout, despite its peculiar narrative.
The 3-minute film opens with Wilson rating his sliding capabilities at home in his socks. After reviewing hardwood, linoleum and carpet – he takes the bold step to go outdoors and test ground surfaces. After a failed attempt at sliding on asphalt, Wilson ends up seriously injured in hospital, but that won’t interfere with his undying dedication to continue the challenge – despite undergoing 3-years of rehabilitation.
‘Risky Business’ doesn’t take itself seriously from start to finish – which only aids the hilarity. Jordan Wilson’s character is charming to watch, albeit excruciatingly foolish. The film acts as a salient reminder that influencers and fame-hungry individuals will do absolutely anything for notoriety – and for that we applaud. Visually, the film is professionally shot with high quality cinematography. Sound, editing, music and graphics are equally commendable. Viewers can expect a few belly-laughs amid the awkward narrative. Highly recommended for light entertainment.
