The film’s delicate and nuanced approach to storytelling makes it stand out, as it explores the post-apocalyptic world through the innocent eyes of a child, inviting the audience to empathize with the character while questioning the circumstances that led to his predicament.
Rouzbeh Noori’s cinematography successfully sets a tense atmosphere, as the camera captures every detail of the haunting surrounding with precision, adding to the film’s haunting tone and emphasizing the aesthetic of a decaying, non-functioning society. ‘Bait’ raises intriguing questions about the aftermath of a catastrophic event and the uncertain future of humanity.
While the film could benefit from further expansion, ‘Bait’ is still a standout sci-fi short film – a testament to Rouzbeh Noori’s strong storytelling talents and the talents of Kian Lucca Noori as an actor. Highly recommended for those interested in mysteries, science fiction, and immersive storytelling.
