Despite the hazy narrative, the film nonetheless, relies well on the chemistry between the sisters, both of whom deliver solid performances. Nevertheless, given the narrative gaps, additional character and political background would have helped viewers navigate better through the story. Currently, it feels like we are dropped into the sisters’ lives mid-story.
The film’s production and costume design are exceptional, and the same can also be said for the excellent cinematography work by Adriana Serrato that provides a haunting tone. The camera is used effectively, lending a cinematic look every scene of the film. Although the story remains murky in parts, the environment and haunting vision are well-captured.
Overall, despite the narrative that seems in need of further explanation, it remains a nicely shot, if not opaque-looking film that delivers strong acting that holds the story well. The film leaves us with excellent craftmanship, with ambitions to provide a well-rounded portrayal of the two sisters but regrettably falls just short of the mark in delivering the intended narrative.
