Written and directed by Shikha Mahajan, ‘The Perfect World’ is a romantic comedy that explores the reunion of two childhood classmates. Aman Bamalwa stars as Deepak, with Lata Sharma as Lahar. The short is entirely set in a Delhi café and is filmed in the Hindi language (with English subtitles). A film which explores themes of regret, success, infatuation and love.

The 19-minute short opens with a business-savvy Lahar preparing her café for the day ahead. Whilst taking an order from a customer, she recognizes a familiar face – Deepak – a boy from her childhood. The two reminisce about school-life before disclosing their secret crush for one another. A spark of romance briefly ties Deepak and Lahar together, but the reality of time delivers a crushing reality check (they are both married with offspring).
