Produced by the creative animation team at Cookie Studio, the film showcases several endangered species in their decimated natural habitat. ‘Not Too Late’ is a powerful artistic creation that raises a crucial political and societal message.
The 2-minute film opens with several endangered species in their element; seals casually resting upon Antarctic ice, tropical fish and sea turtles exploring unspoiled coral reef, jungle wildlife embracing vegetation and a polar bear playing with its cub. Mid-way through the animation, the tone dramatically shifts and we witness the consequences of environmental change on the species. The film doesn’t shy away from showcasing crumbling ice, burning rainforests and marine debris. ‘Not Too Late’ concludes in heartfelt poignancy – a tearful child at a museum that photographs the wildlife destruction.
Thiago Maia and his team of animators have developed an outstanding animation that serves as a reminder to change environmental thinking. Visually, the film is beautifully constructed with captivating characters. Dramatic and emotional music, coupled with the animation, results in a powerful narrative. A sobering watch that concludes with the warning: “We still have time to fix it… it’s not too late”. Highly Recommended.
