Jamie Sarai Margolin (Writer/Director/Star) brings a spark of fresh energy and vibrance to her work, with stylish cinematography, choreography and costume design aiding the experimental beauty perfectly. Isabella Fallahi’s role as the love interest is equally captivating and their performance partnership is mesmerising. The theme of mental health is subtly explored within the short as we witness moments of the protagonist’s loneliness and depression throughout the dance routine and preceding black-and-white imagery. ‘La Antiromantica’ is an unconventional short film with an experimental narrative that works well with its dreamy soundtrack. Highly recommended.
